Our Ensembles
Jazz Ensemble I is our most advanced jazz ensemble. Each spring, students audition for placement in this band for the following school year. Auditions are required every year for new and returning students. Beyond our regular jazz concerts, Jazz Ensemble I performs with a guest artist, at the Pops Concert series, and several festivals and competitions each year. Jazz Ensemble I is directed by Mr. McKnight.
Jazz Ensemble II is geared for students continuing to advance in their jazz education and performance. Auditions for Jazz Ensemble II take place in the second week of school each year. Auditions are required every year for new and returning students. Jazz Ensemble III is for students who are beginning their jazz journey or for students who would like to learn a new instrument. Auditions for Jazz Ensemble III take place in the second week of school each year. Auditions are required, but no student is cut. Jazz Ensemble III performs at our regular jazz concert as well as the 4AA Jazz Festival. Jazz Ensemble III is led by a student director. Student directors apply and are selected at the end of each school year for the following year.

Auditions
Auditions will take place the week of September 27. An audition sign up form is posted on the door of the band room.
